What is a Senior Adventure Club?
Senior Adventure Clubs are local, self-governing clubs where seniors (including those with early-stage Alzheimer’s) and their loved ones work together to engage in regular communal activities (“adventures”) and also offer respite to caregivers through a shared responsibility model. Each club chooses its own activities and locations. All clubs are member facilitated but adhere to a shared set of principles and values.
Who Can Join?
Anyone. All clubs are made up of adventurers (seniors) and adventure leaders (caregivers or volunteers). Members help plan and run activities for their club.
How to Start a Club?
Anyone can start a club: the requirements are adherence to shared principles, at least one adventure per week and a listing in the club registry.
How Much are Clubs?
All senior adventure clubs are free. Activities are organized by members, caregivers, and volunteers, and any costs for outings (transportation, tickets, meals) as each group decides.
I’ve got more questions…
